For seasoned sports hounds in the Commonwealth, the face of regional Emmy award-winning broadcaster Jimmy Young is a familiar one indeed.
As a sports media producer with over four decades in the field under his belt, Young is best known locally as the face of “Jimmy Young’s Sports World” which ran on New England Cable News from 1992-1998.
But for anyone in the orbit of the cannabis industry around New England will probably spot him from his work at Pro Cannabis Media. He and his growing team cover multiple facets of the cannabis industry here in New England, as well as macro news reports and contextualizing dispatches from cannabis culture. Notable was last year’s Boston Freedom Rally where the 61-year-old Young took his first ever dabs on camera to experience the world of concentrates – Young and PCM have become staples at industry events, networking summits, and all the major cannabis industry trade shows, and often produce livestream coverage and rolling guest interviews through the night.
Late last week, Young hosted the first entry into his new project, a cannabis news and market call-in show to compliment his pre-recorded news videos and his podcast, “In The Weeds with Jimmy Young.”
PCM asked Cannapreneur Partners’ Director of Communications, Dan McCarthy, to the live call-in show to discuss cannabis and the media, the medical community, and why his mom using CBD as medicine is a ripe indicator of where cannabis is. And more importantly, where it’s headed.
WATCH: The full show is filled with great commentary and insight from the guests, and CP’s portion begins in the clip below.
